Purpose:  This interactive course is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of what an Energy Star rating means, how it is calculated, how it benefits building owners, operators and tenants, and how it used by rating agencies.  Using a combination of lecture and hands-on experience, you will learn:

  • How to obtain an EPA/DOE Energy Star rating
  • How to properly populate the Building Portfolio Manager (BPM) online tool
  • How to benchmark buildings against the Energy Star database
  • How to track energy and water consumption and the impact of improvement projects
  • How to generate and comprehend Statements of Energy Performance (SEP) from the BPM, as required by the LEED building rating system.
